How did I get into taking my shoes off ?

Well probably about four years ago, or so I was introduced to a independent gym in Sacramento, CA. They promoted removing your shoes to work out. I did not think much of it in the early days of hearing it. At that time I had a conventional cross trainer shoe for the gym. At some point I did purchase a Nike Free 5.0 shoe. At the time I thought this was a big change for me.

About two years ago I started doing workouts in the gym barefoot all the time. Even before that I experimented with it, but was not sure how the gym would respond to it. I got away with it when I did it. Then I went to another gym in Arcata which is a independent warehouse type gym. They were barefoot friendly. Which is why I have been doing BF workouts for the last two years since I started using this gym.

More recently at the end of the summer 2010 I decided to take bare footing into everyday life. I wanted to see what it felt like to do it in public. I wanted to see how people react to it. I wanted to embrace the experience for good health. The only time I really wear shoes is at work.

In a upcoming post I will discuss why I take my shoes off, and the benefits of being barefoot. So stay tuned for more.......
